These valves are used to shut off the filling pipes at their inlet in order to prevent further conveying of the bulk material into the silo when the silo has reached its maximum filling level. In addition, the valve can be used to pneumatically lock the silo filling pipe outside the filling process to protect the silo against uncontrolled filling (e.g. when multiple filling pipes are used).

The valve is closed by means of a pneumatic control unit via a central or local electrical control system.
